KEY INGREDIENTS:

Adapalene Gel 0.1% (Topical Retinoid): A topical retinoid medication used in Effaclar Adapalene for the treatment of acne. A synthetic molecule that mimics vitamin A, it works by regulating skin cell turnover to help remove and prevent dead skin from clogging pores. An ideal choice for those concerned with whiteheads and blackheads.

INACTIVE INGREDIENTS

CARBOMER HOMOPOLYMER • EDETATE DISODIUM • METHYLPARABEN • POLOXAMER 182 • PROPYLENE GYLCOL • PURIFIED WATER • SODIUM HYDROXIDE

Step 1: To open the product, remove the cap and insert the opposite side of the cap into the foil. Push down on the cap and twist until the foil is punctured.

Step 2: After using a gentle cleanser, apply a pea sized amount all over the face once daily in the evening.

Step 3: Apply a moisturizer after use.

Step 4: Use with SPF daily

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Im In my early 30s I've never had acne untill now. Usually just a few pimples here and there but over the past year or so it's gotten worse. I get the painful under the skin zits and they leave such bad dark marks. As soon as 1 would heal another would pop up I would have at least 1 at all times. I consider myself skincare obsessed I have all the tools and products wash my face twice a day I use the skincare towels to dry my face to avoid bacteria, change my pillowcase often, take hormonal vitamins.. all the things! So it's frustrating why my skin has just gotten progressively worse. I've heard this product worked well for many people and I trust anything la roche posay makes so I just started it last week. It's rough at first it definitely does get worse before it gets better but that makes me feel like it's working. Your skin purges at first. I think im past that part because all my zits are healing and no new ones have popped up. It's also extremely drying! I have normal to oily skin and I'm so dry and flakey it's hard to deal with but im sticking it out. I don't think I have sensitive skin but I did get some slight redness and burning around my eyes when i went to apply eye cream after I must have still had product on my fingers cause it instantly burned and i had to wipe it off. So avoiding the eye area and just skipping eye cream all together. At first I was putting a good amount all over my face but because it is such a harsh product I'm now just putting a tiny dot on the worse areas to try to avoid the side effects and thats been helping. I've read that some people saw results right away and others after several weeks/months so I'm hopeful this is the product that changes my skin im sticking it out as long as I can. But so far I feel like it's already starting to work my skin has calmed down significantly.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Kind of works I bought this product because I have acne scars that kind of just popped up one day, and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where they came from, as I have clear skin. So I decided to try this brand because of how much dermatologists praise it. I did some research and I ended up with the Effaclar medicated cleansing gel with salicylic acid, the clarifying solution, the duo cream, and I bought the Toleriane dual action moisturizer. Fast forward about 3 months and I could not get the scars to go away. So I tried the adapalene gel, and I was using it religiously for a few months, and while that product along with the product line I bought was making my skin look amazing, it was irritating the scars that I have. It turns out they are scars from using the apricot scrub from St. Ives. They are tear marks from the scrub. So I’m afraid to use it like a retinol, because my skin is sensitive to those products now. So yes, it has kept my skin looking great in the spots I use it on that aren’t in the scar range, but I would consult with a dermatologist first to see if they recommend it for you in general, but especially for acne scars and how it can benefit your skin like a retinol.

My breakouts are tamed and my skin is feeling smoother and more even. I actually get better results from this than Differin, not sure why since the two seem very similar, but I'm going with it. Definitely be careful not to mix other things when you're using this. I forgot that my overnight eye cream had anti-aging ingredients in it – put it on, and.... ouch!
